A Life Dedicated to Divine Service
Born as Mahesh Chandra Pattanayak in the sacred city of Jagannatha Puri in 1957, His Holiness Bhakti Purusottama Swami Maharaja discovered his spiritual calling at a young age. After encountering the transformative teachings of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada through ISKCON in 1976, he embarked on a lifelong journey of devotion that would touch the hearts of millions.
Initiated by His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaja in 1979 and accepting the sacred sannyasa order in 1985, Maharaja has served the Vaishnava community with unwavering dedication as a GBC member, temple president, author of over 20 books, and founder of transformative educational and humanitarian initiatives.
